Huntly Arms Hotel
Address Charlestown Road
Aboyne
Aberdeenshire
AB34 5HS
No. Bedrooms 52
Frist built in 1432, this hotel is probably the oldest coachin inn in Scotland, still in its original position. Jacobite leaders and Royalty, in particular Queen Victoria have used the Huntly Arms over the Years. The Property used to belong to the Marquess of Huntly, but he lost the property through gambling debts and this folly is commemorated in the restored gazeboo in the garden with the four flower beds representing the four suits of Cards. A wonderful stained glass window commemorating Donal Dinnie a world famous athlete dominates the residents cocktail lounge. The hotel was privately owned until take over by Swallow Hotels in March 2006.

Udny Arms Hotel
Address Main St, Aberdeen
Newburgh
Aberdeenshire
AB41 6BL
No. Bedrooms 26
3 star hotel, 10 minutes north of Aberdeen, overlooking the Ythan estuary. You have a choice of fine dining in the award wining restaurant, or enjoy bar meals. There is an indefinable quality about this part of the world that our guests notice as soon as they arrive, and that brings them back to the Udny Arms Hotel time and again. Some say this is thanks to our warm welcome, and convivial atmosphere. Others sing the praises of our famous cuisine, and the way we make guests feel as if they are visiting old friends. Flattered as we are, more than a little credit for this unique atmosphere must go to the calming influence of the River Ythan, the changing moods of the Forvie estuary, and the joy of sharing it all with eider duck and geese. Whatever the reason, and whatever the season, it seems folk simply can't help but relax here, and for nigh on one hundred years they have been coming to do just that.
